Literature Text

The last petal had withered too
deep desires under bitter roots.

Keep my still beating heart
on your sweaty palm
Resting as the struggling fades
Like dancing little fishes on shiny little glass
they used to be pretty anyway.

Dusty vines smothering timid dreamers
and gave way to petty grave robbers
Promises of picnics under the shades promised but I couldn't wait.
The chocolate you gave me melted in someone else's mouth
we both agreed it was a little too sweet.

That antique kiseru coughed off exhaustion and life
fuels of inspiration burning like passion used to
Apparitions of hope, fear and death took shape
and swirled among translucent dreams
Confusion confused with temporary derangement.

Just like drunken angels who broke their wings
I watch as my future dies.
Fortune telling can be so scary sometimes. I couldn't wait, but I'm afraid of growing old.

Beautifully written piece. Love the imagery. Makes me think of wine vineyard.
